RURAL LIFE INITIAVE PROGRAM

RLI-Logo-300x300

Following the program’s success in 2024, through seven pilot states and a holiday mini-grant program, the National Grange is proud to continue the Rural Life Initiative – now open to all Granges to participate.

What is the Rural Life Initiative?

The Rural Life Initiative aims to foster grassroots community events, wellness resources, and educational sessions, aiming to enhance the quality of life and support local rural identity.

Potential projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Youth Leadership: Offering leadership training and life-skills programs for children, teens, and young adults.
  • Modern Agriculture Outreach: Highlighting sustainable agriculture practices and educating the broader public on their importance.
  • Community Fellowship & Culture: Promoting and creating community events, emphasizing local heritage, cultural projects, and events that bring communities together
  • Physical & Mental Health: Providing resources such as guides on RSV, pneumonia, and pharmacy interactions, wellness classes, etc.

As many civic and social organizations are experiencing a decline, the Grange is seeing a resurgence and revitalization in communities nationwide. Grange members are leading the charge in bringing communities together through unique events.

Due Dates

September 30 ($1,000 grants)               December 31 ($5,000 grants)

This will likely not be the only round of Rural Life Initiative Grants given this year.

“This is just the beginning for the Rural Life Initiative grants,” Hamp said. “We’re working to secure additional funding so we can open the door for even more grants – possibly with exciting new areas of focus. If your Grange wasn’t selected this time, don’t count yourself out. Each round will allow fresh ideas to have their chance to shine.”
