The National Grange (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of our members, participants, and visitors who use our digital platforms, including our website, Grange Engage, our online member engagement hub, and any other digital platform owned or controlled by The National Grange (collectively, the “Sites”). This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have, and applies to your use of the Sites. By using our Sites, you agree to our practices concerning personal information, including our use of cookies, as described below. This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time. For questions regarding our handling of personal information, please contact us as detailed at the bottom of this page.

Information We Collect

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide or that is generated through your use of our Sites and related services. This may include:

  • Personal Information: Name, physical address, email address, phone number, date of birth, and Grange membership status.
  • Platform Usage Data: Login times, event registrations, communication preferences, forum activity, and messages.
  • Payment Information: When registering for paid events, making donations, or submitting dues, limited financial data is collected and processed securely via a third-party payment processor.
  • Linked Junior Profiles: Parent or guardian account holders may link profiles for Junior Grange members under age 13.5. This information is collected and managed under direct adult supervision as outlined in the Grange Engage User Agreement.

Some of the above information is automatically collected from you when you use our Sites. We collect certain information from all visitors to our Sites. This information includes cookie data, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, information about the types of operating systems and browsers used, and information about navigation patterns including the specific web and/or mobile site pages visited. We may also collect geolocation information and computer and mobile device IDs. We also track data such as the total number of visits to our Sites and the number of visitors to each page of our Sites.

We use cookies on the Sites to deliver our online services. We may also use information collected for data analytics, and consent management purposes related to our Sites’ visitors, for system maintenance, and to understand how visitors use our Sites and services. We utilize third-party analytics tools that use cookies or other tracking technologies to generate information on your use of our Sites (e.g., your IP address, pages viewed and pages visited before that, and links clicked). This information may be transmitted to, and stored by, our third-party service providers. We or our contractors may also transfer this information to third parties as required by law, or where such third parties process the information on our or our service provider's behalf.

Google Analytics: We may use Google Analytics and other third-party analytics vendors. These services use cookies to report on user interactions on our and others’ Sites. We use the information collected to evaluate user activities on the Sites and statistics to improve and inform our content, website navigation, programming strategies, and generally improving users’ experience. Note that this opt-out is specific to Google activities and does not affect the activities of other ad networks or analytics providers that we may use.

Browser “Do Not Track” Signals: The Sites do not respond to web browser "do not track" signals.

How We Use Your Information

The National Grange uses collected information to:

  • Facilitate access to the Sites and participation;
  • Provide customer service and technical support;
  • Communicate important updates, organizational news, and event information;
  • Customize user experience and improve functionality of the Sites;
  • Comply with legal obligations and organizational governance.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Sharing of Information

We may share your information:

  • With authorized National, State, or Local Grange officers for legitimate organizational purposes;
  • With service providers under contract to perform functions on our behalf (e.g., email distribution, payment processing, analytics providers);
  • When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of The National Grange and its members.
  • With your consent or at your direction. We may share personal information for any other purposes disclosed to you at the time we collect the information or pursuant to your consent or direction.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data. This includes encryption, password protection, and limited access controls. However, no system is 100% secure, and users are encouraged to protect their login credentials and report suspicious activity. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any personal information you transmit to us, and you understand that when you use the Sites, any personal information that you transfer to us is done at your own risk. If we learn of a security system breach, we may attempt to notify you, including electronically, so that you can take appropriate protective steps. By using the Sites or providing personal information to us, you agree that we can communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of the Sites. Cross-Border Transfers

The Sites are controlled and operated by us from the United States and are not intended to subject us to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country, or territory other than that of the United States.  Your personal information may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers. By using the Sites, you consent to the transfer of personal information to countries outside of your country of residence, including the United States, which may have different (and less protective) data protection rules than those of your country.

Links to Third-Party Websites

The Sites may contain links to websites operated by third parties. We do not control these websites or their content, and any information you provide to such websites is governed by the terms of that website's privacy policy. The inclusion of links to third-party website on our Sites in no way constitutes an endorsement of the content, actions, or policies of the third-party website.

Public Posting Areas

Please note that any information you post to any public posting area on our Sites is available to anyone with Internet access worldwide. If you don't want people to know your email address, for example, don't include it in any message you post publicly. Please be careful when disclosing information in public posting areas. We are not responsible for the use or disclosure by others of the information that you disclose in public posting areas.

Disclaimer Regarding Video Content

The Sites may contain video content, audiovisual content, or content of a like nature (collectively, “Video Content”). In connection with our provision of Video Content, the Sites may utilize cookies and other online tracking technologies and tools that track information about your activity and webpage-viewing history on the Sites (collectively, “Tracking Tools”). Tracking Tools on the Sites may result in information about your activity on the Sites being transmitted from your browser to us and third parties, which, in turn, may result in the display of targeted advertisements on third-party websites and platforms, including advertisements for The National Grange or its content. In addition, whether Tracking Tools on the Sites results in your browser’s transmission of information to third parties depends on a number of factors that may be outside of our knowledge or control, including what third-party websites you use, what information you have provided to such third parties, and whether (and the extent to which) you have limited the use of cookies by the operators of those third-party websites.

Children’s Privacy and Supervision

The Sites are not intended for independent use by children under 13 years of age. Parents or guardians may link a Junior Grange member to their profile and access Junior content under direct adult supervision. The National Grange does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 online without parental consent. In any event, consistent with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), a parent may review or have deleted their child’s personal information, and prohibit its further collection or use. If you have a request in relation to the personal information of your child below the age of 13, please contact us using the information provided below. If we become aware that we have collected the personal information of a child below the age of 13 without parental consent, we will delete such information.

Your Choices and Rights

You have control over your data through your Patron Profile and may:

  • Update your personal information;
  • Modify communication preferences;
  • Deactivate your account or request deletion by contacting Grange Engage Support.

California “Shine the Light”

California residents have the right to annually request and obtain information free of charge about any third parties that received personal information from The National Grange during the preceding calendar year for direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information for these purposes.

Nevada Disclosure

Residents of Nevada have the right to opt out of the sale of certain pieces of their information sold to third parties. Currently, we do not engage in such sales. If you are a Nevada resident and would like more information about our data sharing practices, please contact us using the information provided below.

Opting Out of Marketing Communications

If you have requested email communications from us (e.g., newsletters and communications regarding our events) but do not wish to receive further information, you can "opt-out" by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link provided in the relevant communication.

Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically, and we reserve the right to do so as we deem necessary. If we change this Privacy Policy, we will notify you of such changes by including a “Last Revised Date” at the top of this page, and/or by any other legal means. Your use of the Sites after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
