Samantha Wilkins
Samantha Wilkins, born in San Antonio, Texas in 1987 to Morris (Smokey) and Penny Martin. She has a strong and proud Texas heritage where she is continuing to dig her roots as she resides on the same property her Great Grandmother established in the early 1900’s. Samantha became a Grange member as a Junior Granger and has stayed an active participant within the Grange. She is a member of Alamo Grange #1446 and has served numerous roles within her Subordinate Grange. She is currently serving on the Executive Committee and several standing committees in her local. Samantha has been a lifetime Grange member in Texas. She is currently serving on the Texas State Grange Executive Committee and as the State Junior Grange Director. She also helps to run and maintain the communications department for the Texas State Grange.
Samantha is a 2009 graduate from Howard Payne University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre and Communication Studies. During her time at HPU she met her husband while working at the local pizzeria delivering pizza. Samantha wears several hats throughout her community. She is blessed to have the opportunity to work with and run the youth department for the one of the oldest Protestant churches in her county. She serves as a 4-H leader. She helps run a local homeschool co-op for homeschooled children in rural areas. She also enjoys indulging in her love for theatre by directing childrens plays within the local community theatre. However, Samantha’s favorite hat to wear is the one that says she is a mom to 4 amazing BOYS! Daniel(10), Zachary(6), Tilden(4), and Jacob(2). And mostly, she wants to give thanks to her wonderfully supportive husband, Glenn Wilkins, who has put up with her and all of her endeavors.
At the 150th National Grange Convention Samantha was named as the new National Junior Grange Director. She is excited to serve the Grange and their communities as they work together to build the leaders of tomorrow.
