Voting for Changes to the ESA

10/25/05

H.R. 3824, the Threatened and Endangered Species Recovery Act (TESRA) was passed in the House of Representatives on September 29 by a vote of 229-193 and scheduled for debate in the Senate in the coming weeks. The legislation is a critical reform that will simultaneously help save countless at-risk species and strengthen the rights of property owners.

Please find how your Representative voted (click Roll Call on H.R. 3824) and if he/she voted “Yes” on TESRA, please call or email to express your thanks. Your congressman will have another vote to cast once legislation is passed out of the Senate and referred from the conference committee. They need to hear from you now so they are reminded that they made the right choice by voting to update the ESA law.
