| Did
you know that about 100 million Americans did not actually vote in 2000 election?
The National Grange urges all of its members to exercise their right to vote.
Please save your vote and make it count to strengthen our democracy.
For
the Fall 2004 elections, voters will select a President, 34 U.S. Senators, 435
U.S. House Representatives, 11 governors and 48 state legislatures. Also there
are some state ballot initiatives this year, such as the I-872 initiative in Washington
State the Grange is supporting. Registration
deadlines are usually 30 days before the election. Please don't panic about the
registration and voting process. Check out the links below to find your state
voter registration form and if you can't get to the polls on election day, check
your state absentee ballot application as well. Remember,
only use forms for your state. Check the forms and regulations for your individual
state carefully since they are different in every state. Please consider using
your state absentee ballot if you or a member of your Grange is a: -
Senior Grange member who might not be able to get to the polls because they no
longer drive; · Grange member who will be traveling or working on election day;
- Grange member
serving in the armed forces away from home;
-
Grange member who is at school away from home;
-
Grange member who has a long distance to travel to get to the voting poll or Grange
member who is worried about bad weather on election day in November, etc.
Please
also help other Grange members as well as members of your community with voter
registration and absentee voting. You can make it a great community service project!
