| The
Easter Seals National AgrAbility Project is a federally funded program to help
farmers, ranchers, and farmworkers with disabilities and their families to succeed
in agricultural production and rural life. Easter Seals' Office of Public Affairs
is now seeking a Project Manager for the AgrAbility Project. The Project was established
by Congress in 1990; a 2004 budget of $4.0 million supports state-level activities
in twenty-seven states and a national project providing training, technical assistance
and information dissemination. Easter Seals' component of the National AgrAbility
Project is conducted under a contract with the University of Wisconsin Extension
Service. The ideal candidate must: -
Have professional credentials in rural health;

Have experience as a manager, including strong skills managing work deliverables,
personnel, and budgets;

Have strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills, and the ability
to relate clearly and concisely to a variety of internal and external constituencies;
- Have demonstrated
competencies in planning and conducting training, technical assistance, and information
dissemination activities;

Have experience and interest in working in disability related programs;

Have a background in or experience with agriculture;

Have knowledge and experience in the management of federal grants; and,
-
Have knowledge and experience in nonprofit voluntary organizations.
Position
Summary: Collaborates
with National AgrAbility Project (NAP) staff of the university extension partner
to provide training, technical assistance, information dissemination, and resources
regarding rural health issues, chronic health conditions, and disabilities to
state and regional AgrAbility project (SRAP) staff and others to enhance assistance
to farmers, ranchers, and farmworkers with disabilities and their families. The
salary range for the Project Manager position is in the mid- to upper-60s. A full
employee benefit package is provided. Some travel is required. Persons with disabilities
