| The
delegates to the 137th Annual Session of the National Grange approved the recommendation
of the Grange Law and Good of the Order Committee to establish a "task force"
to review the Junior Grange program and make recommendations to improve the Junior
Grange structure to allow more children to benefit from the Junior Grange experience.
The report is to be presented to the 2004 convention for action.
The
adopted resolution is as follows: JUNIOR
GRANGE PROGRAM RESOLVED,
that the National Grange appoint a study or task committee to review the Junior
Grange Program and report to 2004 delegates a proposal to improve the Junior Grange
structure to allow more children to benefit from the Junior Grange experience,
and be it further RESOLVED,
the National Junior Grange Director be included as a member of said Task Force.
The
"Junior Grange Evaluation Team" has been set up and is scheduled to meet in Washington,
DC beginning on Friday morning, April 30, and work until noon on Sunday, May 2.
They will evaluate the entire program, from how Junior Granges are organized and
chartered, to current programs and projects, and review materials. Here, as in
the renewal program for the Grange started several years ago, every aspect of
the Junior Grange must and should be open for discussion. Please
pass the word along to others and make any suggestions or comments you would like
to put before the team. Reply
