| National
Farmers Union (NFU) will be holding a dairy fly-In March 29-31, in Washington,
D.C., to advocate support for H.R. 1160 and S. 560, the Milk Import Tariff Equity
Act of 2003, to restrict imports of milk protein concentrates (MPCs) and other
dairy products that are being dumped into the United States at record levels.
The
fly-in will begin at 1:00PM on Monday, March 29, with a fly-in briefing. The rest
of the time will be devoted to visiting congressional offices, seeking co-sponsorship
of H.R. 1160 and S.560, legislation to stop the flood of dairy products entering
this country and devastating our dairy markets. The participants will carry the
message about how they are personally being impacted by MPC importation. The
goal of this event is to give members of Congress in both the House and Senate
an opportunity to hear from America's dairy producers who are impacted by MPC
imports and get a majority of the them as cosponsors in order to force the leadership
to move forward this important legislation. Click
