Congress Comprehensive Energy Bill is now in the Conference Committee, which is
the final stage in the legislative process before sending the legislation to the
president for his signature. House and Senate have a different version of the
bill -- the House passed HR
6 by a 247-175 vote on April 11 and the Senate passed S
14 by 84-14 vote on July 31 -- and their discussion and reconciliation will
be fueled from September, right after their August recess. National
Grange created a side-by-side Energy Bill comparison report to encourage our members
and Congress to learn Grange policy compared to House and Senate policy. Please
email your U.S. Senators and Representative to ask them to pass comprehensive
national energy legislation this year. Also ask them to check our website to find
out Grange policy on the bill and to include the individual provisions of each
chamber's legislation that are supported by the National Grange. In this action,
email is highly recommended tool particularly to let your Senators and Representative
have an easy access to our Energy Bill comparison report and have an opportunity
to browse our website at the same time. Click
