- People
for the USA and California State Grange Host Western Land Use Conference
Registration
for the National Grange's Legislative Fly-In 2003 is currently under way. For
the last six years, the Legislative Fly-In has provided Grangers with the unique
opportunity to spend a weekend in Washington, DC to participate in educational
workshops, enjoy cultural activities and have the opportunity to meet directly
with elected officials from their states.
If you would like to have the Grange arrange lodging accommodations
for you at the Club Quarters Hotel, please reply no later than April 18th so that
your room can be guaranteed. Also attached is a request form for meetings with
your state senator and congressman, which will allow us to schedule meetings for
our "day on the hill." For additional information regarding the Fly-In, please
contact Joanne Manelli at (202) 628-3507 ext. 105. We appreciate your interest
and participation and look forward to seeing you at the National Grange Legislative
Fly-In 2003!
People
for the USA (PFUSA) Grange, in a collaborative effort with the California State
Grange and the Kamath Community College, is sponsoring a Western Land Use Conference
February 22-23, 2003. This conference was developed for the purpose of educating
members on Western Water and Land Rights issues. This conference will provide
members with the opportunity to hear from leading educators and advocates of Western
Water and Land Rights issues, additional information on topics such as the Endangered
Species Act, the National Environmental Policy Act and the Western Water Law and
about how pertinent and federal case law citations can benefit you. Not only will
you become more educated about land use issues, you will be empowered to act on
this knowledge. For additional information, please contact Katherine Van Tuyl
at (541) 857-0678. If
you have any questions or comments please contact Legislative Research Analyst
Chil-Sook Hwang by fax: 202-347-1091
or by phone: 1-888-4GRANGE, ext 109. Thank you for your grassroots participation
