This
program is designed to recognize active families, single parent families, young
couples and generational families in the Grange. Subordinate (community) Granges,
Pomona Grangers, and State Granges who have families involved are encouraged to
nominate the family for National Recognition. Each family nominated will receive
a certificate. National
will recognize each family nominated in a display at the national convention.
Five types
of families that can be recognized. -
Traditional young family recognition award - Father,
Mother and children. (Children must be under 25 years of age.)
-
Single Parent Family recognition award - Mother or
father and children . (Children must be under 25years of age.)
-
Generational Family recognition award - Grandparents
or other relative raising children.
-
Multi-generational Family Recognition award - The
award is to recognize those families who have multiple generations currently involved
in the Grange organization.
-
Young Couple Award - individuals who are married
to each other and are significantly contributing to the Grange at any level are
eligible for nomination. At least one of the individuals should be under the age
of 40.
Guidelines:
Adults
nominated in this program must be Grange members. Nominations may come from
a Subordinate (Community) Grange, Pomona Grange or State Grange. Children
who are 14 or older must be Grange members. Children 5-14 must be Jr. Grange
members if a Junior Grange is chartered in the area. Deadline for nominations
is September 10 (send to the National Youth Development Director). Nominations
must be submitted with the proper forms. Once a family has received national
recognition they cannot be nominated again.
Essay/story
about why this family should be recognized. Tell us about their activities and
involvement in the Grange and your community. Include activities that cover Fun,
Activities, fellowship, Recognition received, leadership abilities and opportunities,
service to community and membership promotion. A
Picture of the Family must to be included. Three
Letters of recommendation are needed. We suggest that the letters come from a
Subordinate Grange officer, State grange officers, employer, teachers, other organizational
