National Grange Youth - Family Recognition Program


Family Recognition Program | Entry Form

This program is designed to recognize active families, single parent families, young couples and generational families in the Grange. Subordinate (community) Granges, Pomona Grangers, and State Granges who have families involved are encouraged to nominate the family for National Recognition. Each family nominated will receive a certificate.

National will recognize each family nominated in a display at the national convention.

Five types of families that can be recognized.

  1. Traditional young family recognition award - Father, Mother and children. (Children must be under 25 years of age.)
  2. Single Parent Family recognition award - Mother or father and children . (Children must be under 25years of age.)
  3. Generational Family recognition award - Grandparents or other relative raising children.
  4. Multi-generational Family Recognition award - The award is to recognize those families who have multiple generations currently involved in the Grange organization.
  5. Young Couple Award - individuals who are married to each other and are significantly contributing to the Grange at any level are eligible for nomination. At least one of the individuals should be under the age of 40.

Guidelines:

Adults nominated in this program must be Grange members.
Nominations may come from a Subordinate (Community) Grange, Pomona Grange or State Grange.
Children who are 14 or older must be Grange members.
Children 5-14 must be Jr. Grange members if a Junior Grange is chartered in the area.
Deadline for nominations is September 10 (send to the National Youth Development Director).
Nominations must be submitted with the proper forms.
Once a family has received national recognition they cannot be nominated again.

Essay/story about why this family should be recognized. Tell us about their activities and involvement in the Grange and your community. Include activities that cover Fun, Activities, fellowship, Recognition received, leadership abilities and opportunities, service to community and membership promotion.

A Picture of the Family must to be included.

Three Letters of recommendation are needed. We suggest that the letters come from a Subordinate Grange officer, State grange officers, employer, teachers, other organizational leaders or clergy.

  1. A picture of the Family needs to be included.
