Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I now declare April 2010 as Grange Month!
The exciting theme for Grange Month this year is “Now is the Time” and it is reflective of what our members are accomplishing across the nation! As America’s oldest farm, family fraternal organization, we have 143 years of vigor, excitement, and experience to make a difference in the thousands of communities we serve. Grange Month is a great time to share the opportunities that the Grange gives people and communities to come together and accomplish great things.
To observe Grange Month, I encourage all Granges to open their doors with an open house, or similar program, that invites the public into your hall. Use this opportunity to share the rich benefits of Grange membership and involvement with the citizens of your neighborhood.
The Community Citizen Award program is one way to demonstrate to your community the importance of being involved in relevant issues in your town or area. Let your local newspapers and radio stations know who will receive, and when you decide to give, this prestigious award. It is fitting that we honor members and others who make our communities a better place to live.
On this page we have supplied everything you need to make your Grange Month celebration a success! Award applications, media resources, order forms, posters… it’s all here and ready for your use.
Every community has people looking for ways to make a difference in the lives of others. Every community has people who need new friends, new partners, and more family. Your Grange can reach out and give these folks a new purpose and an additional family. Use April as the kickoff for your 2010 activities and events that will create the greatest year yet for your Grange and your community. I trust that Grange Month will be the beginning of a wonderful and successful year for every Grange as “Now is the Time”.
Fraternally,
