Roxanne and Haven both say the best thing they got out of the Grange was something a little unexpected: “The best thing that we have gotten out of the Grange is each other. We met several years before we started dating at a Grange youth conference. He is from Central Maine, and I am from Southern Rhode Island. We hadn’t seen each other in a few years, and we started talking that weekend. We dated for a few months, and he decided to pack up and moved to Rhode Island. That was over 7 years ago, and we have been married for 5 years now. It’s funny to think that at least half of the guests at our wedding were Grange members! The Grange is a big family to us. We are both very active and involved in our local Grange. Co-workers and other friends don’t know how we do all that we do. There are times when we aren’t home on week nights and when we are out all weekend long at Grange events. We do all of this, because it is fun and we enjoy the company of our fellow Grangers.”

Roxanne is a fourth generation Grange member who was “raised in the Grange.” Haven joined the Grange along with the rest of his family when he was a teenager.
